Andera Partners, a leading investment firm for private capital in Europe, announces the opening of an office in Frankfurt, the firm’s second office in Germany. Dedicated to the sponsorless mezzanine financing strategy led by Andera Acto, this new office is part of Andera Partners’ ongoing European expansion drive. Sébastien Neiss, previously Senior Advisor for Germany, oversees the office’s activities as Director.
Andera Partners announces the opening of an office in Frankfurt, which will be its second office in Germany. This office will primarily focus on Andera Acto’s sponsorless mezzanine financing strategy.
Germany, Europe’s largest economy, represents a natural growth market for this approach: a dense ecosystem of owner-managed SMEs and mid-sized companies, a strong entrepreneurial culture, and a growing demand for flexible, non-dilutive financing solutions suited to management buy-in transactions and acquisition financing. Ideally positioned at the heart of the region’s leading financial market, Frankfurt provides the natural hub from which to cover the entire DACH region with ease, in close proximity to the intermediaries, lenders and advisors with whom the team works on a daily basis.
Sébastien Neiss appointed Director of the Frankfurt office
Sébastien Neiss, who joined Andera Partners in April 2025 as Senior Advisor for Germany, is appointed Director within the Andera Acto team and will oversee the activities of the Frankfurt office, where he is based. With over 25 years of experience across the Franco-German axis, he brings proven expertise in both deal sourcing and transaction execution across all sectors.
This new momentum has already delivered its first results: early in 2026, the team announced its first investment in the DACH region with exceet Card Group, an Austrian manufacturer of smart card solutions. This deal concretely demonstrates the fund’s ability to deploy its sponsorless mezzanine strategy beyond France’s borders and the appetite of entrepreneurs in the region for this type of financing. Several other transactions are currently under review across the DACH region. In parallel, the team is steadily building its presence among local deal originators, as evidenced by the growing flow of opportunities being brought to it.
Sébastien Neiss, Director, Andera Acto, comments: “After a first year spent building relationships with entrepreneurial leaders across the DACH region, the opening of this Frankfurt office marks a natural and decisive step. Germany has no shortage of solid family-owned businesses, led by entrepreneurs looking for flexible financing solutions that respect their independence. That is precisely where Andera Acto can make a real difference — and our first investment with exceet Card Group has already proven it.”
Stéphane Bergez, Partner and Head of Andera Acto, adds: “The opening of this office reflects our conviction in the potential of the German market for our sponsorless strategy. In less than a year, Sébastien Neiss identified and closed our first deal in the DACH region. This office will allow us to accelerate that momentum, backed by a permanent local presence at the heart of Europe’s largest economy.”
Germany: the latest step in a deliberate European strategy
The Frankfurt office will also serve as a hub for all Andera Partners teams pursuing development opportunities in Germany, enabling them to strengthen their access to the market, entrepreneurs and financial ecosystems in the German-speaking world. Next to sponsorless mezzanine capital (Andera Acto) Andera Partners also invests in buyout transactions (Andera MidCap, Andera Expansion, Andera Co-Invest), in the healthcare transactions (Andera Life Sciences) and in infrastructure supporting the energy transition (Andera Infra).
In Germany, Andera Partners now operates two offices with complementary mandates: Munich, opened in 2021 and dedicated to life sciences and biotech with the Andera Life Sciences team, which has been active in the region for over 20 years; and Frankfurt, focused on sponsorless mezzanine financing. This dual presence gives the group a solid foothold at the heart of Europe’s largest economy.
The opening of the Frankfurt office is part of Andera Partners’ broader strategy to build a pan-European footprint and confirm its position as Europe’s reference private equity platform. Following its offices in Antwerp (Belgium), Milan (Italy), Madrid (Spain) and Munich (Germany), Frankfurt represents the group’s sixth European location. This growing pan-European presence underlines Andera Partners’ ambition to establish itself as the leading private equity platform in Europe.
