Andera Life Sciences, part of Andera Partners, is one of the leading Life Sciences venture capital teams in Europe and manages funds investing in therapeutics, medical devices and enabling technologies. Through its Biodiscovery 7 fund, the team currently invests worldwide in opportunities spanning a range of therapeutic areas and maturity stages.
The Andera Life Sciences team is looking for an intern for a period of 6 months, starting this spring.
Responsibilities:
- Scientific analysis of investment opportunities: mechanism of action, link to disease etiology, analysis of available data in pertinent in vitro and in vivo models, as well as clinical results available, differentiation from other therapeutic approaches etc
- Analysis of epidemiology / market size / competition
- Active participation in the due diligence processes (academic and industry expert interviews, meetings with management)
- Analysis of exit scenarios (venture investment modelling / capitalization table, M&A and IPO comparables)
- Participation in the drafting of investment memoranda
- Conducting scientific intelligence research on specific therapeutic areas and modalities
- Participation in preparation of the fund’s communication and reporting
Required:
- Scientific or medical training (preferably PhD and degree in biology, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy or medicine), ideally but not necessarily supplemented by training in business, management or finance
- Mastery of the office pack, particularly Excel
- Fluent English required and fluent French strongly desirable
- Rigor and good organization
- Critical analysis and good communication skills
- Ability to work in diverse teams
The internship will take place at our Paris office (physical presence required). We encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds.
