The Expansion team has completed 32 exits with an average multiple of 3.6x, enabling its first two funds (2011 and 2016 vintages) to rank in the first quartile of the market with net investor returns in excess of 2.5x.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Beyond absolute performance, investors particularly valued the team&#8217;s ability to execute its portfolio rotation strategy and deliver on the announced exit plans.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Indeed, in a market characterised by significant uncertainty and a liquidity squeeze, Andera Expansion completed seven exits over the past three financial years at an average multiple of 6x, generating more than \u20ac350m in distributions to investors. This execution capability demonstrates the team&#8217;s mastery of its value creation model, regardless of market conditions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, more than two thirds of these exits were completed with leading industrial groups such as LVMH, Michelin, VYV and SPIE, illustrating the team&#8217;s ability to enhance the strategic value of the companies it backs. This value creation rests in particular on a systematic buy-and-build policy, with more than 100 bolt-on acquisitions completed to date. As an example, Patrimmofi, the first exit from the AE III fund, completed 18 acquisitions and quintupled in size in just four years of partnership with Andera Expansion.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This liquidity generation is already underway with the AE III fund, closed in December 2021 and fully invested in four years, in line with the pace of previous vehicles. Indeed, with only two exits (Patrimmofi and Artemys), the fund already has a DPI of 0.4x, even though the average age of its portfolio is only 3.5 years.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>A RECORD FUNDRAISE, THE HALLMARK OF A RECOGNISED TEAM<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Such a track record enabled the team to benefit from very strong support from its existing investor base, with a re-up rate of 120%.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;We had the capacity to go beyond this amount and had to limit certain subscribers&#8217; allocations, as we did not want to change our market segment or alter our investment strategy, which we have mastered over more than three generations of funds,&#8221; says <strong>David Robin, Partner in charge of the Andera Expansion activities<\/strong>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>The AE IV fund is distinguished by a broader international investor base, representing more than 30% of commitments.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>To support the deployment of this new vehicle, the Andera Expansion team, which currently counts eleven professionals including the four partners David Robin, Olivier Le Gall, L\u00e9opold Brichard and Mayeul Caron, will announce the recruitment of two new team members before the end of the year.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>With this new fund, Andera Expansion further reinforces its ESG ambition as a core driver of performance. While retaining its Article 8 fund status, AE IV will devote 30% of its investments to sustainable assets. In addition, 20% of the carried interest will be conditional on the achievement of ESG targets. Andera Expansion&#8217;s experience shows that the most advanced companies on these issues consistently demonstrate superior growth and profitability compared to their peers.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In parallel with the fundraise, the team has continued its investment activity and is expected to announce several new investments from the autumn onwards, marking the launch of AE IV&#8217;s deployment.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;We remain focused on the investment strategy we have been developing for over fifteen years: backing primary growth LBOs in niche industries and B2B services, and enabling their management teams to scale up through the active support of the Andera Expansion team.
